March 18, 2024
(The title of the performance is also the title of one of Tadeusz Brzozowski's drawings) premiere: March 18, 2024 |  Four Domes Pavilion . Museum of Contemporary Art Branch of the National Museum in Wroclaw | as part of the off-stream of the 44. Stage Songs Review

Museum performance for four themes. A performance-guide.

Between abstractions we tell about man. Between the wars we tell about art. Between anxieties – about dreams.

What is abstract is combined in the show with what is clearly shaped like a human being. Man as an individual, man who meets another man, and that man who inevitably lives among societies, policies and ideologies. And that man who the impulses of the world in his own artistic studio discusses, digests and transfers into the matter of art. With all the weight of this process, but also distance, sensitivity and joy.

The path of our performance leads between four stops in the exhibition of contemporary Polish art presented in Four Domes Pavilion

We begin with the war motif, which was a kind of trigger for many artistic statements of the second half of the 20th century, and end with the GPT chat in the context of Magdalena Abakanowicz’s attempt to talk to the “Crowd” – in a context also heralding war. In between, in this bracket, however, is a large visual and theatrical statement about abstraction: expressed musically and experimenting with words, as in the case of Tadeusz Brzozowski’s art, whose phrase became the title of the show. Here we want to accommodate a story about individualism and very individual sensibilities – somewhat in contrast to the social, restless framework of modernity immersed with one foot in the post-war, the other in the aggressive today.

An integral part of the performance is a guided tour of selected excerpts from the exhibition of 20th and 21st century art from the collection of Four Domes Pavilion
