27.03.2021 "Moults" a film etude on the occasion of Theater Day inspired by the exhibition "Marek Oberländer and Jan Lebenstein. Totemic Sign of the Human Figure". National Museum in Wroclaw
Curator of the exhibition: Magdalena Szafkowska
Impotence. Workingness. Fluttering. Running. Desire. Reflection. Transformation. Oblique entities, blob-like painterly signs, axial divisions. Plastic signs and the narrative of Ms. Magdalena Szafkowska, the curator, highlighting the devastating effects of the war and its painful seals on the minds of artists – these watchwords guided us when we thought about the exhibition “Marek Oberländer and Jan Lebenstein. The Totemic Sign of the Human Figure”. Faced with the IMPOSSIBILITY of filling the familiar and tame formula of a theatrical finale, which would be a real MEETING in the exhibition space, we DESERVED to fill this lack, so we reached for the film form. Our statement also rhymes with contemporary times for us. Marked also by powerlessness, the need for forced transformation, if only by ways of contact, trying to find ourselves in a new skin of a new reality, in the face of the impossibility of touching, of experiencing as intense, as sensual, as before the great viral separation.

Theatre of Four composed of: Monika Ćma, Elżbieta Dudź, Agata Iżykowska-Uszczyk, Maciej Makosch, Katarzyna Mazurkiewicz, Justyna Oleksy, Barbara Przerwa, Lesław Zamaro

The etude uses a fragment of Franz Kafka’s “Transformation” and Theatre of Four’s own text.
